Dr. Kang is a Board Certified General Surgeon and fellowship trained in Surgical Oncology. Prior to beginning his private practice career, Dr. Kang served 13 years of Active Duty with the US Air Force, during which he was deployed three times: Kuwait, Iraq (Operation Iraqi Freedom), and Afghanistan (Operation Enduring Freedom), the last two deployments in combat zones. He completed active duty service with honor, receiving the Meritorious Service Medal.
He received his Bachelors of Arts degree from Columbia University in New York City and his Medical Doctor degree from Howard University in Washington, DC. Dr. Kang completed his General Surgery residency at SUNY Buffalo, (New York) earning the Outstanding Teacher Award. He completed three years of Surgical Oncology Fellowship Training at John Wayne Cancer Institute (Santa Monica, CA). Dr. Kang is a third generation physician in his family and is fully dedicated to the art and practice of medicine/surgery.
